Lady Sings the Blues

March is almost over, the month of the blues for me. Really hoping for a better April - by the way - from April 5th until April ?? my shop will be on hiatus as I go to visit family and an old college roommate down in New Orleans. That gives you all about one week.

Since I've been singing (and playing) the blues - it really is great therapy for the actually blues to bust out the old blues standards for piano and vocals - I thought I'd look on etsy for some related items.

hehe, wasn't as easy a search as I thought it might be. I did, under "delta blues" find this great print of a painting of Robert Johnson at the Crossroads by Bryan Federico of daddyb72. And while my tastes for singing, personally, run more along the line of the polished up big city blues, my Dad grew up on Highway 61 in the Delta, and the imagery and the music does mean something to me.

His shop is full of striking and colorful images including scenes and scenarios right out of New Orleans. Beautiful prints and definitely worth the perusal.
